Workshops
Saturday – 11 AM
Artist Brigitte Galipeau (BGALI) invites participants to discover her “acrylic skin” technique. She will demonstrate her process of working “in reverse” on a non-stick surface, layering acrylic paint step by step to create a flexible, textured “skin” of vibrant colour that is later transferred onto canvas. During this creative exploration workshop, participants will create a heart (or another shape of their choice) using the acrylic skin technique, which will then be applied to a small folded white card to create a handmade greeting card to keep or give as a gift.
Saturday – 2 PM
Workshop with Brigitte Blanchet: This one-hour workshop will focus on drawing a landscape space using perspective techniques. It will cover key concepts such as the horizon line, vanishing point, and how to apply light and shadow using black and white graphite pencils.
Sunday – 11 AM
Through this playful and exploratory activity led by Karine Chartrand, also known as “Ki Artiste,” participants will be invited to reconnect with their spontaneity, intuition, and the part of themselves that still dares to create without seeking perfection. By experimenting with unusual creative constraints where control of the line is intentionally limited, each person will rediscover the beauty of raw, naïve, and instinctive gesture. The workshop emphasizes letting go, the joy of exploration, and the freedom to create differently without pressure of outcome. Participants will then bring their explorations together in a playful free-form collage inspired by their own creative experience.
Sunday – 2 PM
Think coloured pencils are just for kids? Think again! In this 1.5-hour workshop led by artist Noëlline Marineau, participants will discover the surprising richness of this medium and learn how to use it in a more artistic way. The session will cover the basics of layering, smooth gradients, and pressure control, as well as techniques for creating custom colour mixes without oversaturating the paper. Participants will also explore how to add texture, depth, volume, and light to their drawings through shading and texture effects. The workshop includes a guided mini-project, allowing everyone to create a small finished piece to take home. Open to all levels, from complete beginners to those looking to refine their drawing skills.
All workshops are offered free of charge thanks to a grant received by Expo Richmond Fair to expand artistic activities in the region as part of its 170th anniversary celebrations, while also helping to reduce isolation and support mental health.
During the weekend, a silent auction will also take place for two paintings, with proceeds helping to support the 2026 mural at Expo Richmond Fair.
